Love of Medical Assistance - Serious Disease Relief and Doctor-Patient Support Project

Under the guidance of the service concept of "whole person", the project named Love of Medical Assistance-Serious Disease Relief and Doctor-Patient Support provides patients, their families and healthcare workers with three major targeted support services (i.e., diagnostic support, psychological support and social support) with professional social work methodology and skills, assisting patients and their families in alleviating a series of problems brought about by illnesses, such as financial, psychological and family relationship problems; assisting healthcare workers in dealing with problems at work and in life, and providing them with care services. It helps patients and their families to alleviate the economic, psychological and family relationship problems caused by the disease, so that they can cope with the disease positively; and helps healthcare workers to deal with problems in work and life, and provides them with caring services. No new life will be lost because of poverty, so that every life can enjoy the right to live.

(i) Clinical support

Medical guide service: Provide relevant medical information, such as consultation process, corresponding disease specialists, access to medical resources, popularization of medical policies and other guidance services, in order to enable patients to successfully seek medical treatment.

Doctor-patient service: Starting from both the doctor and the patient, promoting two-way communication, establishing a positive interactive relationship, and then properly solving problems in the medical process.

Discharge Follow-up: Carry out follow-up services to assist patients in making plans for discharge recuperation and return to hospital for treatment, and make regular phone calls or home visits to understand the patients' conditions and maintain continuity of services.

(ii) Psychological support

Emotional guidance: assist newly diagnosed patients and their families in the course of treatment to deal with emotional distress, vent their emotions reasonably, and face the disease positively.

Accompaniment service: routine accompaniment activities are carried out to enrich the hospitalized life of patients and their families, and to enhance the sense of experience and satisfaction in medical treatment.

End-of-life care: psychological care and counseling on the value and meaning of life to improve the quality of patients' lives and reduce mental stress and burden.

(iii) Social support

Relief support: explaining the relevant relief policies to patients and their families, while actively linking resources to raise the necessary treatment funds for patients through foundation applications and media reports.

Volunteer Cultivation: Through the excavation, cultivation and management of activists, we will gradually form a team of outstanding volunteers to inject more love and power into patient services.

Medical and nursing care: Carrying out various forms of caring activities to relieve the work pressure of medical and nursing staff and at the same time provide spiritual support for them to better devote themselves to service work.
