They also have a name - autistic children.

World Autism Awareness Day is celebrated on April 2 every year. This day was established to raise awareness and research on autism and to make society more aware of this special group.

Star Care, Together for the Future

April 2, 2023 is the 16th World Autism Awareness Day, and this year's slogan is "Caring for children with autism, caring for and supporting caregivers and professionals who work with autistic people".

In order to respond to the call to better publicize the knowledge of autism rehabilitation, promote the public's understanding, acceptance, respect and tolerance of autistic people, and form a good social atmosphere of caring for and helping people with disabilities, Aiyixing and Chengdu Sprouts Brain Injury Care Center carried out the theme of "Star Care, Together to the Future". More than ten autistic families and teachers from rehabilitation organizations participated in this activity.

Before the activity started, Aiyixing's social workers tied blue ribbons to the passers-by, calling for everyone to pay attention to the autism group. Afterwards, we carried out several thematic games, including "Happy Dribbling", "Parent-Child Sticky Paste" and "Integrated High-Five". The games not only promoted the interaction between parents and children, but also let teachers and parents get relaxed.

The stars will always shine.

"Star child", the name is cute and romantic, but the reality is the life of countless autistic children outliers. According to statistics, the prevalence of school-age autistic children in China is 0.7%, about 1 case in every 142, of which 90% come from ordinary elementary school, and nearly half of them are diagnosed for the first time.

Rui Rui is 4 and a half years old.He is an autistic child.The first time when I met Rui Rui, he likes to stand quietly by the window to see the world outside the window, no one knows what he is thinking about in his inner world. From Rui Rui's mother, we know that Rui Rui sleeps poorly at night, so he needs to be taken care of 24 hours a day. Rui Rui sometimes harms himself and even shows aggressive behavior.

Since the diagnosis in 2 and a half years old, in order to let the child receive rehabilitation interventions, Rui Rui mother put down the farm work and moved from the countryside to the city to rent a room. Almost 2 years of rehabilitation time, Rui Rui ‘s mother inseparable accompanied with Rui Rui. In the face of the family's economic pressure and psychological pressure, Rui Rui mother to hold back tears and kept strong. She said that it is indeed very hard to accompany the child in two years, but as long as the child has seen a little change, she feels worth it.

Every autistic family is under tremendous economic, mental and social pressure, and they long for understanding and care. Let us unite our love and warm to these autistic families in deep distress, so that they can have less bumps and more hope on this muddy and dangerous road.
